NOT SO NICE! are proud to present a brand new Scratch Night performance designed to showcase local theatre makers in Edinburgh. The stimulus of the project is 'F*cked Up Fables'. Fairytales always have a happily ever after, but maybe the Grimm Brothers had it right. This Christmas we want to take fairytales back to the beginning. After all, not all damsels are in distress, not every Prince wants a Princess and some stepmothers deserve a redemption story. Here's where you come in! We want you to give us your own 'F*cked Up Fable'. This can either be completely original or a reimagining of a fable that exists already. Please use your creativity to come up with your own interpretation based on the stimulus. There are no limitations at all. Be bold and brave, but above all... the more f*cked up, the better!

We will be selecting submissions to be written and performed in the scratch night.
Each piece must be 15-20 minutes long.

There will be dramaturgical support sessions throughout the process. The dates will be confirmed soon.

Deadlines:
15/09/24 - Form submission.
20/09/24 - Successful playwrights confirmed.
30/09/24 - First draft submission.
07/10/24 - Second draft submission.

14/10/24 - Final draft submission.
13/12/24 - 'F*cked Up Fables' Performance at Augustine United Church, Edinburgh.

Due to this being an unfunded event, Not So Nice! are providing an equal profit share of ticket sales. This will include playwrights, actors, directors, tech.
