NOT SO NICE! are seeking actors to audition for NOT SO NICE!’s upcoming Pride 2025 Murder Mystery entitled 'A Murder Most Queer' at Augustine United Church, Edinburgh on the 28th June 2025.
To apply you must:
- Live in Edinburgh or be willing to travel to Edinburgh for the rehearsal (this event is unfunded so travel costs will not be reimbursed)
- Be available all day on the 27/06/25 for the rehearsal.
- Be available all day on the 28/06/25 for the tech, dress and show at the venue.
If you fit the above criteria then we encourage you to apply! Whether you are a professional actor or have never acted before, as long as you are passionate we want to hear from you.
Production timeline:
18/06/25 - Deadline for actor submissions.
19/06/25 - Successful actors confirmed.
27/06/25 - Rehearsal.
28/06/25 - 'A Murder Most Queer' Performance at Augustine United Church, Edinburgh.
Due to this being an unfunded event, Not So Nice! are providing an equal profit share of ticket sales. This will include playwright, actors, directors, tech.
Not So Nice! will be attending Edinburgh Pride 2025 to involve the community in the creation of this cluedo-esqe murder mystery event. We will be asking them the following:
- The Name of a Character
- A Room in the Manor
- A Weapon
- A Costume/prop
- A Motive
- A Line for a character
- The Name of the Manor
The Writer's Room:
We are inviting playwrights that we know and trust to 'The Writer's Room'. From the prompts given by the community, it is their task to collaboratively create an hour long comedy murder mystery play. They will have one day to create the show.
The Rehearsal:
The actors and director will have one day to stage the show.
The Show:
The show will be taking place at Augustine United Church on 28/06/2025.
